The Harnett
County Clerk also known as the Clerk of Superior Court holds office
for a four-year term. The Clerk complies with the state of North Carolina bys
serving the county as director of the office and also as Ex Officio Judge of Probate.
The Clerk has original and exclusive jurisdiction over the administration of the
estates of decedents, minors and incompetent adults. In addition, the Harnett
County Clerk serves as custodian of court records and is responsible for maintaining
and preserving those records.
