Harnett County Libraries are the following 6: Anderson Creek Public Library, Angier Public Library, Coats Public Library, Dunn Public Library, Erwin Public Library, and Harnett County Public Library.

The Harnett County Public Library was dedicated on May 22, 1988. The Harnett County Public Library building measure approximately 13,000 square feet and is located on the banks of the Cape Fear River. The Harnett County Public Library operates upon the following departments: Circulation, Adult, Youth, Outreach, Local History Room, and Interlibrary Loan. The Harnett County Library System serves more than 10,000 people each month and owns a large collection of 200,000 books, magazines, cassettes, compact discs, books on tape, and videos. Approximately, 305,554 items are checked out each year. The Harnett County Public Library belongs to a consortium of six public libraries including Anderson Creek, Angier, Coats, Dunn and Erwin. In addition the libraries offer internet access, summer reading programs, computer access, scanners, and Interlibrary lending.
